EDSON AND DISTRICT PUBLIC LIBRARY ANNOUNCE TEMPORARY LOCATION
The library building will be closed to the public during the expansion and renovation scheduled to commence on August 28, 2023.
EDSON, AB: Today, The Edson and District Public Library has officially announced that its temporary location will be at 5016 4 Ave. This is the former CENOVUS office located next door to Century 21 on Highway 16 West. This temporary location will be open to the public on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
The library is undergoing its first full renovation and expansion since the building was constructed in 1980. The library is the second most used facility in Edson, making this project much needed to maximize space and give new life to the current building. Construction is scheduled to commence on August 28, 2023.
The library’s temporary location will have five public-access computers, printing services, a bookable meeting space, exam invigilation, and a carefully curated collection of books for the public to browse. The library will continue to offer inter-library loans and holds can be placed with the user-friendly TRACpac app or by calling and speaking with a staff member.
The library would like to express sincere gratitude to CENOVUS for their generous donation of this space to support the continued delivery of library services to the community during the renovation.
